Z-Band, Inc., a veteran-owned, small business, founded in October 1999 and successfully operated out of the Murata Business Center in Carlisle, has recently graduated and moved on to a new and larger facilityZ-Band designs, manufactures and sells leading edge video systems for distributing cable TV, satellite and internally generated video for use in the hospitality, healthcare, government, educational and business markets throughout the United States and Canada. Z-Band's new plug-and-play third generation system is capable of distributing the full bandwidth of television signals, including high definition and video-on-demand, over existing or new computer type cable vs. over more cumbersome and more expensive coax cable.

Dick Snyder, Principal, stated "Z-Band found Murata to be a conveniently located, cost-effective facility in which to operate a new business. Murata is recognized as one of the State's Keystone Innovation Zones, and the tax incentive program for companies that qualify is very significant for their growth and development, as it was for us. The camaraderie also between companies was appreciated and value-added." Effective Feb. 1, 2008 Z-Band officially opened its new 4500 square foot headquarters at 848-B, Hanover St., Carlisle. Z-Band's future plans are to continue to build sales and visibility in the domestic and international marketplace, launch their new third generation high definition system, and complete the design and development of their new lost cost "Top Cat" system.

"It has been the pleasure of the staff at Murata to help Z-Band through the process of beginning and growing their business to the point that they are now positioned to further expand their success out in the community," stated Karen Gunnison, Executive Director of the Murata Business Center. "We wish Z-Band all the best in this new chapter of their business."

The Murata Business Center is a 30,000 square foot business incubator owned and operated by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC.
