Automation Systems Interconnect Graduates Print E-mail

(Harrisburg, PA March 26, 2008)- Automation Systems Interconnect (ASI) Graduates from the Murata Business Center

Automation Systems Interconnect (ASI), a manufacturer and a supplier of industrial electrical components, has recently graduated from the Murata Business Center and moved into a new facility located in Mechanicsburg.

ASI provides customers with a selection of over 7000 different parts as a result of strategic partnerships with world class manufacturers from Europe and ASIA. They currently have 10 employees and are looking to hire several more in sales, marketing and customer service.

"Murata played an important role in the development, the survival and the success of ASI over the past 9 years in many different ways,” stated Howard Minnick, President.  “Having worked with successful start-ups, previously, that were well funded and financed, I learned very quickly that it is a totally different ball game when you are financing a business on your own.  Murata provided, on many occasions, access to people and support that would not necessarily be easy to find on your own."

The Murata Business Center is a 30,000 square foot business incubator owned and operated by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC. It is largely supported by private and public sector contributions to the organization, as well as rental income. It is staffed by the Executive Director – Karen Gunnison, Facilities Manager-Alex Quigley and two part-time Administrative Assistants- Kathy Kirk and Janet Hosey, as well as supported by the staff at the Chamber & CREDC. It is a state designated Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) and companies located in the facility have qualified for KIZ tax credits.

The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC serves as a catalyst for promoting growth and quality of life in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry Counties by providing a unique blend of business, community and economic development and advocacy services under one roof to boost our economic vitality and livability as a region. HRC/CREDC has been accredited with four stars from the United States Chamber of Commerce.
