About Murata |

The Murata Business Center is owned and operated by CREDC, The Capital Region Economic Development Corporation. Murata is dedicated to assisting start-up businesses that either become clients at the incubator, or choose locations in the community.
Eligibility:
The program's focus is software development, the service industry & light manufacturing, less than three years of age.
Program Description:
Murata is a regional business incubator serving the counties of Cumberland, Perry and Dauphin. The facility is designed to house 28 businesses through flexible office and light manufacturing spaces. These firms will remain in the supportive environment of the incubator for three to five years. Business counseling is provided by several business development organizations. An associate client program is available to businesses operating from the home and not yet ready for a lease, but need the services and address of a professional business.
The Facility:
A facility was donated by Murata Electronics of North America, Inc. to the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) in March 1997. The 34,000 square foot facility is located on four acres in Carlisle, PA. The building was designated for an economic development project. Soon after, it was determined that a business incubator was an appropriate use of the facility, hence the Murata Business Center
Participant Costs:
Facility leases are based on a complete Economic Development Benefits Package, and varies according to whether the business needs manufacturing or office space.
Governance:
An Advisory Board represented by region’s area leaders in business, education, economic development, financial and entrepreneurial communities offers guidance and counsel.
Support:
Eleven agencies and organizations support both the program and renovation of the facility including the Commonwealth, Cumberland County and the Borough of Carlisle. Several private sector firms also support the program with financial assistance and other resou
