(6/7/05) BitLeap & Thornberry Partner to Backup Home Health Data Print E-mail

CARLISLE - 7 June 2005 - BitLeap has announced a new strategic partnership with Thornberry Limited, a home health care software provider based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Thornberry's customers have critical patient information that cannot afford the vulnerability of existing on only a single storage device.

BitLeap's automatic backup solution enables the data to be transferred offsite as soon as it is created. Using BitLeap's backup service, Thornberry's customers will not need to conduct time consuming daily physical media backups and their data will no longer be at risk between backup sessions. Once securely transferred to BitLeap's data storage network, customer data is protected by highly redundant disk backup servers located in multiple states.

This partnership was introduced to customers at Thornberry's annual user conference on May 24, 2005. At that conference BitLeap's CEO, Guy Suter, presented information on Business Continuity. Suter remarked that BitLeap's relationship with Thornberry is very natural, he said, "Thornberry is a great software company whose product handles critically important information. Common sense, good business practice and legal regulations require health care providers to backup their data. Making sure that our customers' data is safe from loss and secure from theft is at the center of everything we do."

Tom Peth, Thornberry president, added, "As momentum in health care builds towards an electronic medical record for every American, innovative information technology solutions offered by teams like BitLeap and Thornberry will prevail. Thornberry customers have a right to expect top-notch service and support, and we're excited by BitLeap's important contribution towards the successful operation of our home care providers."

BitLeap introduced an innovative backup solution in 2004; this solution allows small and medium-sized businesses with limited IT budgets, support, and infrastructure to implement automatic offsite data backups with ease. Today, Bitleap continues to redefine the industry with a managed server line called LeapServ, which administers the bandwidth-efficient backup service and controls virtual private network connections.
