April 8, 2010- LOCAL TECHNOLOGY LEADER MARKS ANOTHER MILESTONE IN HISTORY Harrisburg's D&H Distributing Adopts Virtual Cafeteria for Employees
CARLISLE - Lunch or bust! Nothing says productivity more than a well-fed worker. Local technology leader D&H Distributing has taken a major step in making sure its employees have more options when it comes to eating. The Harrisburg-based company has adopted a virtual cafeteria for its workers. On Monday, April 12th, D&H employees will be able to order their food online and have it delivered directly to their work site. The brand new technology making it possible is called Cruzcourt, an innovative software service created by Carlisle-based Cruzstar (http://www.cruzstar.com/).
Cruzcourt is a virtual cafeteria system for companies that do not have onsite cafeteria services. By using Cruzcourt, employees benefit by not wasting time or money driving around searching for food, they will no longer have to pay delivery charges, and they will not be forced to spend more money to meet minimum order requirements. Employers benefit by keeping employees productive, happy and fed. Of D&H's 400+ employees, more than half have already signed on to use Cruzcourt, which utilizes Cuppy's Catering (www.cuppyscoffeeandcatering.com) of Mechanicsburg for food preparation.
D&H Distributing is North America's leading technology distributor. The company specializes in emerging trends across IT, electronics, entertainment and gaming. Throughout its impressive 92-year history, D&H has accomplished many milestones which include distribution of the first color TV, the first home PC and even the very first gaming system.
"We are extremely excited that D&H Distributing has taken this monumental step in adopting Cruzcourt," Adrian Fang, Cruzstar President and CEO, says. "Employee productivity and morale are the most important factors for any organization, and we believe Cruzcourt will aid D&H in increasing both."
"We welcome the idea of a convenient and versatile option for ordering-in, without the hassle and extra expense of a delivery fee," said Dan Schwab, co-president of D&H Distributing. "Cruzcourt is like having access to a neighborhood café, right at our fingertips, whenever we like. D&H has a very family-like environment, so the more we can make our co-owners' days easier with services like this, the more positive and industrious an environment D&H becomes."
